Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care — including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate in the OR as required; unit operates with 4 ORs
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum, with potential float to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby care
- Practice in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines; utilize EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- High-risk L&D experience required; must be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Ability to circulate in the OR and perform newborn care (eyes, thighs, assessments) — hard stop requirements; do not apply if unable to meet these
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome at the same rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC EMR
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
