Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:30–07:00) | Every other weekend expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in a 27-bed rural Emergency Department
• Assess and manage a wide range of chief complaints including chest pain, respiratory distress, mental health evaluations, OB/GYN emergencies, sepsis, stroke, abdominal pain, trauma, and cardiac arrest
• Perform and manage advanced clinical skills including dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV placement, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and ventilator management
• Conduct triage and maintain 1:4–5 staffing ratio across all shifts; participate in resuscitation room response as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system for documentation and medication management
• Float within service line and scope of practice as needed, including to other units or facilities

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required; combined Adult and Pediatric ED experience required
• ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4 required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Primary Stroke Center or Trauma-designated facility
• Familiarity with SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) protocols or forensic nursing environments
• Experience managing CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic trauma cases
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed — first-time travelers are accepted
