Contract | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Rotating (Days: 7:00–19:30 / Nights: 19:00–7:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care for a complex Neuro ICU patient population including individuals with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases (e.g., myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome), meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients
• Support and assist with bedside procedures including tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), central line and arterial line placement, and EVD placement
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG as indicated
• Manage arterial lines, administer blood products, and implement IV insulin protocols
• Access and manage ports in accordance with unit protocols
• Float to other units within the organization as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with strong Neuro ICU background
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Valid RN compact or state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Every-other-weekend availability required (Days: Saturday/Sunday; Nights: Friday/Saturday)
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience as a first-time traveler in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting
• Familiarity with post-operative neurosurgical care including craniotomies, spinal surgery, and cerebrovascular surgery
• Experience with EVD management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
