**Therapist - Social Worker** **Join Our Team in Kansas City, KS and Make a Difference in the Lives of Our Patients** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Therapist - Social Worker to join our team in the Emergency Room/Behavioral Health department at KU Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assessing, evaluating, and managing patients with complex psychiatric needs. **About the Role:** * Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine disposition for psych patients entering the ER * Coordinate necessary steps such as placement, safety planning, and transport * Respond to Behavioral Response Team (BRT) calls to manage escalated patients through de-escalation, setting limits, restraint, and supporting bedside staff * Collaborate with ED physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans * Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and community resources to promote positive outcomes **Responsibilities:** * Assess patients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans * Evaluate patients' risk for harm to themselves or others and develop strategies for mitigation * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions * Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes * Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and industry developments in behavioral health **Requirements:** * Master's level licensure with the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or State of Kansas Social Work license) * 1 year of experience in the ER and 1 year of experience in Psych (hospital preferred) * Experience with assessments to determine disposition for psych patients and working with violent patients * Strong psych nursing skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment **What We Offer:** * Competitive bill rate of $82.50 before admin fees * Opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive environment * Collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and promotes work-life balance * Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance * Nicotine-free facility and bi-weekly pay periods * Client is allowed 2 cancellations per month with a minimum 2-hour notice **Schedule:** * 12-hour nights, 1900-0700, 3x a week * Possibly 2-3 weekend shifts per month * No on-call requirements * Required to work holidays based on unit needs **How to Apply:** If you are a motivated and compassionate Therapist - Social Worker looking for a challenging and rewarding role, please contact Judy Henry at Jhenry3@favoritestaffing.com.
