Join Our Team as a Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and certified Surgical Technologist to join our Women & Children’s Services team. As a Tech - Surgical, you will play a vital role in supporting our surgeons and ensuring the highest quality patient care. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of patient care in the Delivery Room under the supervision of a professional nurse, adhering to AWHONN Practice Standards
• Apply knowledge of normal and pathologic anatomy and physiology to perform duties expected of a Surgical Technologist
• Maintain a sterile field, gowning, gloving, and surgical scrubbing according to medical center policy
• Prepare and possess knowledge of the specific uses of all equipment and supplies used for surgical procedures
• Differentiate sterilization methods required for specific instruments and equipment
• Demonstrate organization, efficiency, and speed in setting up a sterile field and performing sharps, sponge, and instrument counts
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon to expedite the procedure, minimizing patient exposure to surgical and anesthetic stress
• Respond to emergency situations, using sound judgment to institute established procedures in a calm and efficient manner

Requirements:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Registered Surgical Technologist (RST)
• L&D experience
• Strong knowledge of normal and pathologic anatomy and physiology
• Ability to maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control policies
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
