Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on the Medical Oncology unit at 18 James. As a Registered Nurse on this unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients with various types of solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology. Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to patients on the Medical Oncology unit, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing various procedures • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans • Utilize advanced assessment and critical thinking skills to identify patient needs and develop effective care strategies • Participate in rapid response teams and utilize rapid response protocols as needed • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports • Float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity to support the needs of the department
Requirements:
• 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but not required • Current certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH • High acuity PCU patient experience required • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays • Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity

• Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Use of rapid response teams • Feeding tube care and management • Accessing Ports • Blood Product Administration • Central line care/management • Peripheral Line Care/Management • PICC line management • Starting IVs • Heparin Protocols • Manage Cardia drips- no titration • PCA • Titrate Cardiac drips • Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac • External CPAP/BIPAP • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) • Interpretation of ABGs • Nasal Cannula • Tracheostomy Management

• Management of dysrhythmias • IV insulin protocols • Titration of Insulin drips • Phlebotomy • Chemotherapy Administration • Monitoring Chemotherapy • Wound Care/Wound Vac • Arterial line management • Surgical drains • Non-invasive airway management

Orientation and Training:
• First week: Monday to Friday dayshift orientation • Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
