Registered Nurse - Operating Room

**Operating Room Registered Nurse** **Location:** Temple, TX **Shift:** Nights **Job Type:** Full-time We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of our surgical care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the success of our surgical services. **Key Responsibilities:** * Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to nursing standards and protocols * Develop and maintain individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons, residents, and anesthesia staff, to ensure seamless patient care * Delegate tasks to appropriate staff members and ensure timely follow-up * Promote safe passage for patients by utilizing knowledge of patient needs and preferences * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice changes * Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic medical documentation **Essential Functions:** * Use clinical reasoning to conduct accurate assessments and identify patient needs * Prioritize patient and family needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans * Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practice and participate in quality improvement initiatives * Create a therapeutic environment that promotes emotional and physical comfort for patients and families * Manage emotional and physical pain to promote relief and healing * Recognize and appreciate the unique differences of patients and families, and incorporate cultural, spiritual, and lifestyle considerations into care plans * Preserve and protect patient confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights * Facilitate learning for patients, families, nursing staff, and the healthcare team **Requirements:** * Grad of an Accredited RN Program * 2+ years of OR Nurse experience * Registered Nurse (RN) licensure * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or certification within 30 days of hire or transfer **About Us:** Baylor Scott & White Health is a leading not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, dedicated to promoting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
