Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse - NICU, you will oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed clinical assessments and prioritizing patient and family needs
- Creating, implementing, and evaluating care plans to achieve desired outcomes
- Building relationships and providing therapeutic connections with patients and families
- Educating patients, families, nurses, and community members on healthcare choices and promoting health and wellness
- Collaborating with colleagues and community to create comprehensive care plans
- Delegating tasks carefully and following up promptly to ensure efficient patient care
Essential Functions:
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans to achieve desired outcomes
- Build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to provide exceptional care
- Educate patients, families, and community members on healthcare choices and promote health and wellness
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to create comprehensive care plans
- Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly to ensure efficient patient care
Key Success Factors:
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures
- Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking
- Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, and payroll systems
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a specialization in nursing
- Current RN license
- BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of starting the role
