Tech First Assist

Job Title: Tech - First Assist Location: Henrico Doctors Hospital- Forest Campus, Richmond, VA 23229 Schedule: Days Job Type: Travel General Comments: * Unit Information: Two Operating Rooms physically separated, each with its own unique specialties * General OR: A Level II Trauma- Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, General, Kidney Transplant Program with 13 OR Suites * GYN OR: Five OR Suites for GYN, General Plastics, ENT, Pediatric, and Neonatal surgeries * daVinci SI: A state-of-the-art surgical suite for complex procedures * Staffing: Shared between areas, with GYN staff taking call for RN and techs * Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with over 110 hours of first assistant hours in a 4-week period * Holidays: Rotated among staff Key Responsibilities: * Assist surgeons and medical teams during complex surgical procedures * Perform various tasks such as preparing operating rooms, maintaining equipment, and supporting patient care * Collaborate with RNs, techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations * Stay up-to-date with the latest medical techniques and technologies Requirements: * Must be proficient in all three areas of first assist (RN, Scrub, and Assist) * Flexible and willing to take call in all areas where needed * Positive attitude and strong communication skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment * Live within a 30-minute response time to the OR Best Personality Fit: * Flexible and adaptable * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively Work Requirements: * 13-week assignment * Start date: August 25, 2025 * Shift starts at 7:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Assist to join our team at Henrico Doctors Hospital- Forest Campus.
