Therapist - Respiratory Therapist
**Respiratory Therapist Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide patient care in a mobile environment to high-risk patients and their families being transported. You will act as a hospital-wide resource for establishing and maintaining a high-quality standard of care for the neonatal and pediatric transport population.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Performs and directs the administration of respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medication, airway clearance, intubation, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry, as ordered by a patient attending physician
* Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situations
* Reviews physician's orders, examines patient's diagnostic test results, and provides appropriate therapy based on the patient's current clinical condition
* Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental operations, policies, procedures, products, and programs relating to the transport environment and patient population
* Demonstrates data skills necessary to resolve complex patient problems in a mobile environment, develop standards of care and procedures, and evaluate the quality of respiratory care
* Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used, and accurately files all corresponding charges
* Reports outcomes of therapeutic interventions and makes recommendations as appropriate
* Maintains current state of physical and mental wellbeing, able to function in the cabin of an aircraft without physical restrictions
* Lives within a one hour drive or fewer than sixty (60) miles from the base of operation
**Requirements:**
* Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
* 2 Years of Experience
* Certification/LICENSE/REGISTRATION:
+ ACLS (ACLS)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS)
+ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
+ Pedi Adv Life Support (PALS)
+ Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS): Registered Respiratory Therapist-NPS (RRT-NPS) from the NBRC
+ Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC
**Working Conditions:**
* Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds occasionally, reach overhead moderately, move up moderately, squat/bend/kneel occasionally, sit/stand moderately, walk/move about frequently, tolerate tight quarters, small spaces, and sit in a confined space
* Must live within a one hour drive or fewer than sixty (60) miles from the base of operation
