Job Title: Registered Nurse - Mother Baby/Postpartum
Location: Salem, VA
Shift: Nights
Job Type: Travel
Schedule: 4 weekend shifts, 4-week schedule (days: Saturday/Sunday, nights: Friday/Saturday)
Unit Information:
* Maternity Care Center
* Lewis Gale Medical Center
* 2 West Building, Main Floor
* 9 LDR beds, 8 PP/GYN beds, 2 OR suites, 23 wellborn nursery
Staff Information:
* Day Shift: Director, Manager, Couplet nurses, Birth response nurse, L&D nurses, Scrub Tech
* Night Shift: Clinical coordinator or charge nurse, Birth response, couplet, L&D nurses, Scrub Tech
Patient Ratios:
* 3 couplets/1 nurse
* L&D = 1:1 active labor/Pitocin/epidural
Equipment and Software:
* Corometrics EMR
* Centricity Perinatal
* Meditech
Required Qualifications:
* OB experience
* BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certification
Preferred Qualifications:
* Cesarean section experience (circulator, 1st assist, scrub)
Typical Procedures:
* Labor & Delivery
* Cesarean sections
* Post-partum and newborn care
* OBED triage
* Inductions
* Midwives
Personality Fit:
* Energetic and self-directed
Dress Code:
* Scrubs
Weekends and On-Call:
* 4 weekend shifts
* 4-week schedule
* Nights are Friday/Saturday
Note: No call requirement for travel staff, however, there may be opportunity for extra shifts.
