Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, managing diverse patient populations with varying diagnoses and medical needs. • Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless communication. • Utilize electronic health records (EHRs) and other technology to document patient information and track progress. • Manage various medical equipment, including IV pumps, wound vacs, heat/cooling pads, and telemetry monitoring devices. • Administer medications, including insulin, heparin, and other IV therapies, as prescribed by physicians. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing education and professional development.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical setting. • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana (or compact license). • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. • Other relevant certifications, such as Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment (ARRT) or Certified Renal Nurse (CRT).

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience working in a large acute care hospital setting (600+ beds). • Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system. • Experience with IV therapy management, wound care, and other medical equipment. • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
