Registered Nurse - PACU

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate safe and effective care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols and policies.
• Monitor patient recovery, identify discharge needs, and educate patients and families throughout their stay.
• Supervise and coordinate care with LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient education and competency testing based on age-specific protocols.

Required Qualifications:

• Current nursing license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• At least one 13-week recent travel assignment in a clinical setting.
• Minimum of two years of current experience in a PACU or relevant specialty.
• Ability to pass the BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) test within the first week of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• EPIC electronic health record system experience (training available onsite).
• Flexible team player accustomed to fast-paced environments.
