Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Asheville, NC

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract, Day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population in a busy trauma and stroke center.
• Assess, plan, and implement patient care according to established standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective treatments.
• Document patient care activities accurately within the Cerner system.
• Demonstrate excellent patient communication using AIDET and respectful behaviors.
• Adapt to unit needs, including floating within ED sections as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid registered nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RN, with at least 1 year in an emergency department.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications (ENPC within 90 days if not already held).
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center preferred.
• Ability to provide team-oriented, flexible, and patient-centric care.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous HCA experience preferred.
• Skilled in high-volume ED environments with over 100,000 annual visits.
• Ability to coach and give real-time feedback to staff.
• Familiarity with GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
