Job Title: Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Type: Full-time
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Certification/Licensure: IL Respiratory Care Practitioner license RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) with The National Board for Respiratory Care
• Approved CPR or BLS within 6 months of hire
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 90 days of orientation for delivery attendance
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs routine therapies to aid in the treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status
• Initiates, monitors, evaluates, and weans invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Makes parameter recommendations based on clinical assessment, technical assessment, patient compliance, patient response, laboratory values, and patient status
• Assesses patients clinically before and after the administration or application of any medication, procedure, or device
• Monitors, educates, and documents patients on therapies, medications, goals of therapies, and equipment
• Demonstrates competence in the set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators, noninvasive ventilation devices, and other equipment
• Provides developmentally appropriate care to support various patient populations
• Participates in community education events relating to procedures performed, disease processes, medications, and treatments relating to respiratory care
Special Physical Demands:
• The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
• The employee is frequently required to climb or balance
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
