Registered Nurse Emergency Room
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule / Job Type: Full-Time, Midshift (1:00 PM – 1:00 AM), Travel assignment (13 weeks)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma and stroke center.
- Monitor and respond to patient needs, using advanced skills to perform procedures and ensure patient safety.
- Document patient information accurately using the Cerner system and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Maintain a respectful and compassionate approach, adhering to departmental policies and guidelines.
- Support triage, internal processing, and unit activities in a busy ED environment.
- Float within the ED as needed, providing coverage across all sections of the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as a registered nurse in a Level 2 trauma or comprehensive stroke center with high patient volumes.
- At least 1 year of current emergency room nursing experience.
- Valid RN license with appropriate state licensure.
- Certifications required before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC (within 90 days).
- Ability to work flexible hours including every other weekend.
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills, with experience coaching and providing real-time feedback.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous experience working in an HCA facility is preferred.
- Familiarity with GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
- Experience working in diverse, multicultural communities.

- Dress code: Navy scrubs.
- Floating policy: No floating outside of the ED but open to working across all ED sections.
- No block scheduling required; scheduling will meet departmental needs.
