Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts (12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the telemetry unit, including stroke and cardiac patients.
• Interpret and respond appropriately to EKG arrhythmias while managing high-acuity cases.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a Level 1 trauma center setting.
• Utilize Epic electronic health records for documentation and patient management.
• Maintain up-to-date certifications and licenses, including NIH Stroke, ACLS, CPR, and active Illinois licensure.
• Assist with patient transfers and care coordination, including ICU transfers and stroke management.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois registered nurse license.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a Med/Surg Tele-Stroke unit.
• Valid NIH Stroke certification and proficiency in EKG interpretation, including passing an EKG test on the first day.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with Epic EHR system.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Travel nursing experience, including at least one completed travel contract.
• Ability to float to other units such as Glenbrook, Skokie, or Highland Park as needed.
• High acuity experience with stroke and cardiac patients.

Additional Notes

• Start date within two weeks of offer acceptance.
• Scheduled night shifts, roughly every other weekend.

• Rare floating to other nearby facilities may be required.
