Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust respiratory care plans within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide explanations and instructions to patients and their families regarding respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge procedures.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students, serving as a role model for best practices.
- Plan, implement, and assess the effectiveness of respiratory therapies as ordered by physicians.
- Communicate consistently with medical and nursing staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adapt to staffing needs by accepting reassignment to other units as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
- Valid Illinois Respiratory Therapist license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Certification as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Valid Illinois license.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
