Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for adult patients, including neuro and trauma cases
- Perform procedures such as neuro/spinal checks, chest tube management, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drains, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions
- Collaborate with a team of staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
- Follow unit policies, including weekend coverage and on-call responsibilities
- Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and care coordination
Required Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in stepdown, med-surg, neuro, or trauma units
- Ability to work night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Neuro and trauma care experience
- Familiarity with ICU equipment such as IV pumps, skylifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and patient lifts
- Experience with Cerner EMR system
