Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a high-acuity environment.
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients' conditions, including titrating IV drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Administer medications and perform procedures for stable pre/post-interventional cardiac patients.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely admissions, discharges, and patient turnovers.
• Utilize telemetry systems and high-flow oxygen devices appropriately.
• Demonstrate adaptability to a fast-paced unit with high patient turnover (78-90 patients weekly).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a cardiac or critical care setting.
• Valid RN license.
• Certification in ACLS and BCLS.
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and cardiac drips.
• Ability to work on fast-paced units with high patient acuity.
• Pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience accepting first-time travel assignments.
• Comfortable managing up to 6 patients with acuity ratios of 1:5-6.
• Willingness to work 13-26 week assignments.
• Prior experience caring for postoperative cardiac and stroke patients, including those on BIPAP or Opti-flow.
