Tech Histology
Job Title: Tech - Histology Location: Charleston, SC Schedule / Job Type: Nights, Full-time
Key Responsibilities: • Performs routine and complex histologic procedures including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry. • Performs quality control on completed slides. • Identifies problems that may affect diagnosis and results. • Records observations from tests. • Documents maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab. • Complies with established laboratory policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: • 3-5 years full-time experience • IHC Proficient, Embedding (40 blocks/hr) and Microtomy (30 blocks/hr) • BLS, HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC)
Preferred Experience / Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in histotechnology, biology or other related scientific discipline • QIHC, 3-5 year’s experience with IHC and Special Stains
