• Night shift, 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care to patients in a Mother Baby unit.
• Administer blood products, start and maintain peripheral IVs, and manage medications including antibiotics, anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and oxytocin.
• Assist with procedures such as circumcisions, cord care, and newborn assessments.
• Educate parents on breastfeeding, circumcision care, car seat safety, discharge planning, and postpartum care.
• Monitor pain management, including epidural and PCA use, and manage neonatal conditions such as low birth weight and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
• Ensure compliance with baby-friendly protocols and infection control procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid MO or compact nursing license at the time of submission.
• BLS and NRP certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with Level 2 and charge nurse experience preferred.
• Cerner electronic medical records experience.
• Ability to work night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including every third weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with phototherapy, thermoregulation, and care for large for gestational age infants.
• Familiarity with pain management techniques including epidurals and PCA.
• Skills in using breast pumps and managing neonatal and maternal conditions.
