Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Tele

Location: Wilmington, NC

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Administer medications including Heparin and Insulin gtts, following proper protocols.
• Document patient information accurately using electronic health records systems such as EPIC.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes or emergencies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Adhere to safety and compliance standards, including passing required assessments such as EKG tests.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Valid BCLS certification.
• Experience with Med/Surg and telemetry units.
• Proficiency in medication administration, including Heparin and Insulin gtts.
• Ability to work nights and adapt to floating to similar units as needed.
• Pass EKG test specific to this specialty.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Travel nursing experience not required but a plus.
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays.
• Flexibility to work in storm or disaster response teams as needed.
• Experience with medication systems like Pyxis and documentation tools such as SBAR.
