Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult surgical patients in a 34-bed unit, including preoperative and postoperative nursing
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and operate medical equipment such as IV pumps, PCA pumps, and vital signs machines
- Document patient care using electronic medical records (EMR) and Pyxis medication system
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and float to other units as needed to ensure optimal patient care
- Follow standard nursing protocols, including safety procedures and dress code requirements
Required Qualifications
- Hawaii RN license (must obtain upon acceptance if not currently licensed)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with strong background in pre/postoperative care
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with surgical procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and chest tube management
- Knowledge of surgical pre and postoperative protocols and equipment
- Ability to adapt to floating between units and work in a fast-paced environment
