Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical and Telemetry unit, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being
- Monitor and assess neurological status of patients, including conducting basic EKG testing and utilizing NIHSS when required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Support the hospital by being flexible to work across units as needed, including overflow and neuro-related cases
- Document patient information accurately and in accordance with hospital protocols
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations, working every other weekend and holiday shifts
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in neurology or neurosurgery nursing
- Experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry units
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIHSS certification (training provided via agency-approved platform if not already held)
- Basic EKG testing proficiency (training available prior to orientation)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to different clinical settings and support hospital needs
- Strong assessment skills, especially neuro assessments
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
