Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, following provider orders, standards of care, and hospital policies.
- Make independent clinical decisions during shifts, prioritizing patient needs based on acuity and potential risks.
- Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately, and manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including initial data collection, diagnosis, and development of individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions to promote understanding and compliance.
- Document patient responses, interventions, and progress accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification upon hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification upon hire
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire
- Flu vaccination required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- One year of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Prior experience in emergency or acute care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical equipment such as monitors, ventilators, and emergency procedures
