Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Peoria, IL
Schedule / Job Type: Days, Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Cardiac, General, and Special Nuclear Medicine procedures independently following established protocols.
- Prepare, measure, and administer diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with safety standards.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized Nuclear Medicine scanners (including SPECT, SPECT/CT, and planar imaging) to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
- Consult with patients and referring physicians to gather medical history and ensure proper procedure preparation; educate patients to reduce anxiety.
- Manage radioactive material shipments, recordkeeping, and disposal in accordance with state and NRC regulations.
- Maintain and quality check imaging equipment, perform routine QC, and ensure all safety and operational standards are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Current registration or registry-eligible status with ARRT or NMTCB and in good standing.
- Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) via American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of DOT and IEMA regulations related to radioactive materials.
- Ability to accurately perform patient injections and positioning procedures.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in General Nuclear Medicine.
- Proficiency with EPIC scheduling and Radiant environment software.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills.
