Key Responsibilities

• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as needed.
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients during shifts.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care of all patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, actions taken, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Follow protocols and standards for initiating, utilizing, and documenting care and treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, recording all interventions accurately.
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the care episode.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient population-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency assessments per unit standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current experience working in a large operating room setting.
• Ability to scrub in surgical procedures.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Valid RN license in New Mexico or a Compact state.
• BLS certification.
• Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system (training available on-site).
• Orthopedic, EENT, and/or vascular surgical experience a plus.
• PALS and ACLS certifications preferred.
