Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for adult surgical patients in a 34-bed medical-surgical unit.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative assessments and interventions, including procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and chest tube management.
• Utilize equipment such as vital signs monitors, IV and PCA pumps, EMR/WOWS charting, and medication dispensing systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes.
• Fulfill standard RN duties, including patient education, documentation, and coordination of care.
• Float to other units as assigned, maintaining flexibility to meet departmental needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Hawaii RN license (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an RN, with strong proficiency in surgical pre/postoperative care.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical procedures such as lap chole, appendectomy, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and chest tube management.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
