Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and respiratory patients in a stepdown setting.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry to manage dysrhythmias and other cardiac conditions.
• Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration when applicable.
• Assist with invasive procedures such as cardiac cath pre/post-care and peripheral line management.
• Maintain and manage complex IV lines including PICC lines and external devices like chest tubes, Pleur-Evac, and BIPAP.
• Support patients with respiratory issues, including COPD, pneumonia, and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac or critical care setting.
• Cardiac PCU experience with a focus on telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Comfortable with 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios, using Epic EMR, and working rotating weekends and holidays.
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac arrhythmias, perform peripheral line care, and manage cardiac drips and ventilation support.
• Pass/Fail EKG exam recognized for all RN staff at the facility.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with rapid response teams and emergency management.
• NIH certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with procedural sedation and tracheostomy management.
