Key Responsibilities

• Co-teach alongside general educators in a classroom setting with approximately 26 students
• Serve as the case manager for students' IEPs, including lesson modifications and small group support
• Develop and implement accessible, content-based curricula in collaboration with team members
• Assess student progress through formal and informal methods
• Build students' academic and socio-emotional skills to promote overall development
• Communicate effectively with families and support teams to coordinate student services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid New York State Special Education Certification or out-of-state equivalent; candidates with a "qualified exemption" (3+ years of full-time special education experience) are considered
• Proven experience in lesson planning with clear objectives and assessment methods
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and educational technology

Preferred Experience / Skills

• New York State or out-of-state certification (preferred but not mandatory)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a co-teaching environment
• Experience working with diverse student populations, particularly in urban settings
