Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, varied shifts, no call required, every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for telemetry unit, including assessments, medication administration, and basic EKG interpretation
• Manage dressing changes and assist with procedures for patients in a 40-bed telemetry environment
• Care for patients with medical cardiology, heart & lung surgery, and vascular surgery backgrounds
• Utilize electronic charting systems, medication distribution via Pyxis, and perform procedures such as epidurals, PCA, and chest tube management
• Support care for step-down critical care patients with equipment like IV Alaris pumps, temporary pacers, and wound vacs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care and patient safety

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years telemetry nursing experience
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with electronic health record systems (EPIC) and bar code medication scanning
• Knowledge of critical care procedures and equipment management
• Ability to float to related units such as MSICU, MSIMC, CICU, or general med-surg units
