Scrub Tech – Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in open-heart surgeries including CABG, LVADS, Aortic & Mitral Valve replacements, ECMO, and Elephant Trunk procedures.
• Prepare and operate specialized cardiovascular surgical equipment in a high-acuity CVOR unit.
• Ensure sterile environment protocols and maintain patient safety during complex cardiac procedures.
• Support clinical team with documentation and procedural duties utilizing Meditech system.
• Respond promptly to call requirements during evenings, weekends, and holidays to support emergent cases.
• Maintain compliance with hospital dress code and equipment protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital OR experience, preferably in cardiac or CVOR specialty.
• Experience with open-heart surgeries and advanced cardiovascular procedures (CABG, LVADs, ECMO, valve repairs).
• Ability to quickly adapt to fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital for timely call response.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel experience with cardiac surgical teams performing similar complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anesthesia and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently and seamlessly integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
