Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to post-operative orthopedic and med-surg patients in a specialized hospital unit
• Monitor patient recovery following hip, knee, spine, and other orthopedic procedures
• Document patient assessments and care activities using Meditech electronic health records
• Collaborate with a team of nurses, PCTs, and unit staff to ensure high-quality patient care
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and patient experience protocols, including bedside shift reports and safety rounding
• Maintain patient comfort and safety through courteous, respectful communication and personal connections

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic or surgical nursing experience
• Experience with post-operative care for orthopedic patients
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system preferred
• Must wear navy scrubs and closed-toed shoes on shift

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a fast-paced, specialized orthopedic unit
• Knowledge of post-operative patient management and recovery protocols
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members
• Prior experience with hospital safety and patient engagement programs
