Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients in a 41-bed unit.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and educate patients and their families.
• Administer medications, manage wound care, and assist with procedures such as chest tube management, trach cares, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
• Monitor telehealth patients, handle admissions and discharges, and coordinate with interdisciplinary care teams.
• Ensure patient safety, document charts using Epic, and utilize equipment such as AccuDose, EZ Stand, Hoyer Lift, and vital sign machines.
• Float to other units like telemetry, observation, or post-partum as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Minnesota RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical unit.
• BLS certification through AHA.
• MN SNSA license (must include with candidate submission paperwork).
• Experience with orthopedic patients preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday.
• Competency in patient monitoring, admissions, discharges, and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with behavioral health patients in medical settings.
• Proficiency with medical equipment such as SCDs, glucometers, and Space Labs Vitals Machines.
• Previous employment with Sanford Health (must have end date of employment at least 6 months prior to submission).
