- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, contract (14-15 weeks)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized bedside care for adult patients with various medical and neurological diagnoses, including stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, and hematomas.
- Manage patient monitoring using telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias accurately.
- Initiate IV starts and deliver medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and adhere to unit protocols.
- Float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units, including potential COVID care units, to meet patient care needs.
- Follow hospital policies regarding no RTO after booking and ensure timely completion of scheduled shifts, including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in Med/Surg.
- Successful prior contract experience as a traveler (must have at least 2 contracts completed before applying).
- Valid BCLS certification; NIH, NIHSS preferred; ACLS is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry interpretation, and neuro patient care.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification.
- Experience caring for neuro and epilepsy patients, including epilepsy monitoring units (EMU).
- Familiarity with hospital systems such as EPIC and PYXIS.

Additional Details
- No RTO allowed after booking; all call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation.
- 1:6 nurse-patient ratio, unit accepts contract extensions beyond initial 14-15 weeks.
- 36 hours per week, with mandatory weekend shifts.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Float requirements include coverage for various Med/Surg/Tele units, including possible COVID units.
