Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement patient care for individuals with psychiatric needs, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Provide care in a manner consistent with the unit’s policies, standards, and mission.
- Assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and document clinical observations accurately.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and modify care plans.
- Respond to emergencies and crises promptly, demonstrating effective judgment and action.
- Maintain a respectful, compassionate approach towards patients, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- CPI or equivalent de-escalation and restraint training.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to handle emergency situations with physical and mental stamina.
- Strong communication skills suitable for diverse patient age groups.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
