Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement patient care for individuals with psychiatric needs, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Provide care in a manner consistent with the unit’s policies, standards, and mission.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and document clinical observations accurately.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and modify care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and crises promptly, demonstrating effective judgment and action.
• Maintain a respectful, compassionate approach towards patients, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• CPI or equivalent de-escalation and restraint training.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to handle emergency situations with physical and mental stamina.
• Strong communication skills suitable for diverse patient age groups.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
