Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in general medical and surgical units, managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, renal disease, GI issues, infections, neurological, and mental health disorders.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and advanced equipment including IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding devices, and telemetry monitors.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor patient status, including heparin and insulin drips.
• Assist with procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, biopsies, minor surgeries, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care hospital setting.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a facility with 600+ beds.
• State of Indiana RN license or valid compact license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Epic electronic health records and hospital equipment such as pyxis, infusion pumps, and telemetry monitors.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with caring for patients undergoing procedures like thoracentesis, paracentesis, or minor surgeries.
• Ability to float to other medical units as needed.
• Familiarity with hospital protocols for wound care, infusion management, and patient safety.
