Registered Nurse - Oncology

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to oncology patients in a med-surg unit, managing conditions such as lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, sickle cell disease, non-hematologic cancers, and benign hematology disorders.
• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and medications for oncologic emergencies.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias; respond promptly to rapid response team activations.
• Perform advanced procedures including blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and starting IVs.
• Ensure infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures are strictly followed, including patient fall prevention.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records (EPIC).

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with IV therapy, blood draws, and central line management
• Ability to adapt to floating between Med/Surg and Oncology units

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncologic emergencies
• Flexibility to work variable weekends and self-scheduling capabilities
