Full-time, 13-week travel assignment, day shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative nursing care for patients scheduled for surgery at Mission Hospital’s Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform IV insertion and other advanced procedures.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and responses using Cerner electronic documentation system.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort before procedures.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, including proper scrubbing in navy blue or surgical scrubs and following unit-specific policies.
• Participate in floating policies to other perioperative areas such as PACU, as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid and current RN license in North Carolina or compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in perioperative or preoperative settings.
• Proficiency in IV skills, patient assessment, and critical thinking.
• Ability to work 13-week assignment, with schedule adherence.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a hospital preoperative or surgical setting.
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
• Strong understanding of perioperative safety protocols and patient advocacy.
