Key Responsibilities
• Provide respiratory therapy care to patients of all ages, including administering medical gases, medications, and airway clearance.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and other respiratory modalities as ordered by licensed healthcare professionals.
• Respond to emergent situations such as Rapid Response calls and Blue Alerts, including serving as the primary airway manager.
• Assess patient response to therapy, make appropriate adjustments, and document interventions in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members during rounds in ICU and intermediate care units.
• Administer specialty gases and advanced ventilation modes, ensuring patient safety and treatment effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
• Successful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license and valid NBRC credentials (if credentialed after July 2002).
• Current BLS certification.
• Basic electronic medical record documentation skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience managing advanced mechanical ventilation modes.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and work in fast-paced environments.
