Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Title: Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Overland Park, KS
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract, nights (3 x 12-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, or Stepdown units, including unit float between approximately five different units and other metro campuses as needed.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies with appropriate interventions.
• Manage patient care plans for conditions such as sepsis, wound care, renal failure, stroke, COVID-19, and post-cardiac cath procedures.
• Assist with procedures including sheath removal, feeding tube management, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Document patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Perform duties during night shift with flexible holiday and weekend scheduling, including participation in charge nurse responsibilities when scheduled.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Kansas or ability to obtain.
• 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred.
• Ability to float within scope across Med/Surg, Telemetry, Neuro, and Cardiac units.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Experience with sheath removal, feeding tube care, and IV/phlebotomy procedures.
• Familiarity with 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems.

Note: This is a float pool position with no assigned home unit, requiring flexibility to meet facility needs. No on-call required. Local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility.
