Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care to children and adolescents on an inpatient behavioral unit.
- Administer medications and educate patients and families about treatment plans.
- Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly on a daily basis.
- Monitor and manage behaviors of patients with diagnoses such as major depression and ADD/ADHD.
- Participate in and lead educational groups for patients.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
- Float to Chemical Dependency/Detox units as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Valid RN license in the state of Maine.
- Current BLS certification.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1-3 years of previous nursing experience, preferably with adults.
- Experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations.
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage stressful situations professionally.
- Capable of maintaining professional boundaries and working effectively in a team.
