Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret telemetry data, and respond promptly to cardiac rhythm changes or patient condition alterations.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy when applicable, and perform specialized procedures such as brachytherapy and central line management.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and maintain patient safety, including fall prevention measures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans and participate in clinical trials and data collection efforts.
• Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes using electronic charting systems.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and specialty procedures such as brachytherapy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) related to chemotherapy.
• Experience working in oncology or specialized units involving clinical trials.
• Familiarity with electronic health records, specifically EPIC.
