Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting, including respiratory, neurological, and complex medical conditions.
- Assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and manage use of specialty equipment such as ventilators, G-tubes, PICC lines, and chest tubes.
- Administer medications, treatments, and blood products as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance with protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and support rehabilitation goals.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and alarms, utilizing strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or applicable state.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a critical care, LTAC, or similar environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience with vent management, specialty medical equipment, and complex patient care required.
- Strong organizational and assessment skills to handle high-acuity patients.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in long-term ventilator and respiratory support care.
- Knowledge of neurological and chronic disease management.
- Ability to effectively respond to alarms and emergencies on ventilator and other specialty equipment.
