Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy emergency department utilizing the nursing process.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered, and timely care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient needs; document actions and patient responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and policies.
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise clinical staff, including LPNs and non-licensed team members, to ensure quality care.
• Complete patient education and competency assessments per unit standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a large emergency department.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications from recognized certifying agencies.
• Successful passing of the onsite BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test within the first week of assignment.
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with electronic medical records, preferably Epic (training available if needed).
• TNCC and ENPC certifications are a plus but not required.
• Adaptability to fast-paced, high-volume emergency care environments.
