Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of care in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, including staff recruitment, hiring, and scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Participate in state and federal survey processes, including writing and implementing plans of correction (POC).
- Lead quality assurance and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
- Manage the electronic medical records (EMR) system, including training staff, generating reports, and ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Perform clinical assessments and ensure comprehensive, compliant care plans are developed, implemented, and regularly updated.
- Ensure resident rights are protected, including offering choices, preventing neglect or abuse, and facilitating access to records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and medical staff regarding resident conditions and care.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
- Supervise and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and engaged team environment.
- Participate in care conferences, staff meetings, and special projects to enhance resident care quality.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN license required for practice).
- Valid RN licensure for the state of practice.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, medication effects, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a LTC or SNF setting.
- Experience with EMR systems and quality improvement processes.
- Knowledge of federal and state nursing home regulations and survey readiness.
