Tech Histology

Job Title:

• Histology Technician

Location:

• Atlanta, GA

Schedule / Job Type:

• Night shift, 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive specimens from surgery and accession them into laboratory systems
• Collect tissue blocks from pathology staff and process tissues for embedding and sectioning
• Prepare and stain slides, including tissue cutting and slide mounting
• Ensure proper documentation and laboratory record keeping in Cerner system
• Assist with various laboratory duties related to histology procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pathology laboratory, specifically within histology
• Certification as an HT or HLT through ASCP
• Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with cytology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems such as Cerner
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
