Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to labor and delivery patients in a busy hospital setting.
- Attend all deliveries, including high-risk cases, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Administer patient treatments such as blood products, epidural and PCA pumps, and wound vacs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to monitor patient vital signs and progress during labor.
- Document patient care and procedures accurately in electronic health records.
- Assist with gynecological surgeries and provide postpartum and neonatal care as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the relevant state or compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery nursing.
- Experience with patient diagnoses such as preterm labor and labor management.
- Ability to attend all types of deliveries, including high-risk scenarios.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures such as cardioversion, defibrillation, and blood product administration.
- Proficiency with specialized equipment including epidural pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vacs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in gynecological surgeries and postpartum or NICU care.
- Familiarity with staffing ratios and float assignments based on skillset.
- Prior experience in a hospital setting specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
