Key Responsibilities

  • Circulate in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during scheduled surgeries.
  • Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Support the heart team; flexibility to float to ambulatory campus as needed.
  • Participate in call and weekend rotations, including holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid BLS certification; CNOR certification preferred.
  • Prior travel nursing experience in a large, teaching hospital setting.
  • Circulating RN experience in CVOR required; scrub experience is a plus.
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge in ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, neuro.
  • Must have at least one year of recent CVOR or equivalent experience; candidates with slightly less than 2 years may be considered if skills are pertinent.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle complex procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of IV insertion and management.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-specialty surgical unit.

  • Reliable transportation required; public transit is not accessible.
  • Vehicles with all-season or snow tires recommended from November through April.
  • No block scheduling; work schedule varies Monday to Sunday.
  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions; next session available on 11/03.
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be fully explained.
  • Complete work history including bed count, EMR systems, and facility type is mandatory for submission.
